Reilu PhoneFix – Repair Warranty Terms

Effective from: 1 May 2026
Last updated: 19 August 2026

At Reilu PhoneFix, eligible repairs come with a repair warranty because we want customers to feel confident in the service they receive.

The applicable warranty period and coverage depend on the device model, repair type, replacement part and service performed. The applicable warranty period and relevant conditions will be communicated to the customer before the repair is started and may also be stated on the repair receipt or service documentation.

The voluntary warranty described below does not limit any statutory rights the customer may have under applicable Finnish consumer-protection legislation.

1. What does the repair warranty cover?

Depending on the repair, the warranty may cover a defect or failure that is directly related to:

  • The replacement part installed by Reilu PhoneFix
  • The workmanship or installation performed by Reilu PhoneFix
  • A defect that occurs under normal use and is reasonably connected to the original repair

The warranty does not mean that every future problem with the device is automatically covered.

The device may need to be inspected by Reilu PhoneFix before a warranty claim can be accepted.

2. Warranty period

The warranty period depends on the repair and replacement part.

Examples may include:

  • Screen/display replacement: as stated on the repair receipt
  • Battery replacement: as stated on the repair receipt
  • Other replacement parts: as stated on the repair receipt
  • Screen protectors: 30 days from installation, where specifically covered by the Screen Protector Warranty

The exact warranty period applicable to the customer’s repair will be confirmed at the time of service.

If a specific repair has a different warranty period, that specific warranty period takes precedence for that repair.

3. What is normally covered?

Subject to the applicable warranty period and conditions, the warranty may cover:

  • A manufacturing defect in an installed replacement part
  • Premature failure of an installed replacement part
  • An installation-related defect
  • A workmanship issue directly related to the repair
  • A functional problem directly caused by the original repair

Where a warranty issue is confirmed, Reilu PhoneFix will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with the applicable warranty terms and mandatory consumer legislation.

Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may include:

  • Inspection and diagnosis
  • Repair
  • Reinstallation
  • Replacement of the defective component
  • Another appropriate remedy required by applicable law

4. The warranty does “NOT” cover

The voluntary repair warranty does not normally cover damage, faults or failures caused by circumstances unrelated to the original repair.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Accidental drops or impacts after the repair
  • Intentional physical damage
  • Cracked or broken glass
  • New physical damage
  • Bending, twisting or deformation of the device
  • A warped, twisted or broken frame/body
  • Liquid, water or moisture damage
  • Corrosion caused by liquid or moisture
  • Improper use or handling
  • Excessive pressure or force
  • Damage caused by external objects
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect the functionality of the repaired component
  • Damage caused by accessories or third-party components
  • Damage occurring after the repair for reasons unrelated to the original service

The above exclusions do not restrict any mandatory statutory consumer rights.

5. Device frame, housing and structural damage

The warranty does not normally apply where the device has a:

  • Bent frame
  • Warped housing
  • Twisted body
  • Broken frame
  • Severely damaged housing
  • Structural deformation

A damaged or deformed device may place abnormal pressure on replacement components and can cause subsequent failures.

If the device was already structurally damaged before the repair, this may also affect the warranty assessment.

6. Liquid and moisture damage

Liquid or moisture damage is not normally covered by the voluntary repair warranty.

This includes damage caused by:

  • Water
  • Rain
  • Condensation
  • Humidity
  • Other liquids
  • Liquid-related corrosion

Even devices advertised by their manufacturer as water-resistant or having a particular IP rating may lose some or all of their original resistance after being opened or repaired.

Reilu PhoneFix does not guarantee that the manufacturer’s original water-resistance or dust-resistance rating will be maintained after repair.

7. Device opened or modified after repair

The warranty may become invalid for the affected repair if, after the Reilu PhoneFix repair, the device has been:

  • Opened by the customer
  • Opened by another repair provider
  • Disassembled
  • Modified
  • Tampered with
  • Fitted with components by another party
  • Subjected to an attempted repair by another party

This does not automatically remove statutory rights where applicable.

8. Customer’s own repair attempts

The warranty does not normally cover damage or faults resulting from a customer’s attempt to repair, modify or disassemble the device.

Examples include:

  • Opening the device
  • Disconnecting internal components
  • Removing a battery
  • Replacing a component
  • Soldering
  • Applying adhesive or chemicals
  • Modifying internal components
  • Attempting to correct the original repair

9. Third-party repairs

If another repair shop or third party subsequently opens, repairs or modifies the device, Reilu PhoneFix may be unable to verify whether a later problem is related to the original Reilu PhoneFix repair.

Consequently, warranty coverage for the affected repair may no longer apply where the third-party work has caused or may have contributed to the reported problem.

10. Software updates and manufacturer changes

The repair warranty does not normally cover problems caused solely by:

  • Operating-system updates
  • Firmware updates
  • Manufacturer software changes
  • Manufacturer security updates
  • Changes to device functionality following an update
  • Software incompatibility
  • Manufacturer restrictions on replacement components
  • Software-related compatibility issues

Some devices may display notifications after a component has been replaced.

For example, the device may identify a replacement component as:

  • Unknown
  • Unverified
  • Used
  • Non-genuine
  • Unable to verify

Such manufacturer software messages do not necessarily indicate that the installed component is defective.

11. Jailbreaking and software modification

The warranty does not normally cover problems resulting from:

  • Jailbreaking
  • Rooting
  • Unofficial firmware
  • Unauthorised operating-system modifications
  • Software modifications
  • Modifications that change or disable manufacturer security or functionality

If software modification existed before the repair, the customer should inform Reilu PhoneFix before the repair begins.

12. Existing faults and pre-existing damage

The warranty applies to the agreed repair and does not automatically cover faults that existed before the device was brought to Reilu PhoneFix.

Examples include:

  • Known manufacturing defects unrelated to the repair
  • Existing performance problems
  • Existing motherboard faults
  • Existing charging problems
  • Existing camera problems
  • Existing microphone or speaker problems
  • Existing biometric-function problems
  • Existing liquid damage
  • Existing structural damage
  • Existing software problems

If a pre-existing fault becomes apparent during or after the repair, Reilu PhoneFix will assess whether it is related to the work performed.

13. Pre-existing physical damage

Warranty coverage may be affected where the device already had significant physical damage before the repair, including:

  • Broken frame
  • Bent housing
  • Cracked rear glass
  • Cracked display
  • Damaged buttons
  • Damaged connectors
  • Missing screws or components
  • Signs of previous improper repair

Where possible, Reilu PhoneFix may document the device’s condition before starting the repair but not mandatory to document all the times.

14. Biometric functions

Certain biometric functions, such as:

  • Face ID
  • Touch ID
  • Fingerprint sensors
  • Other manufacturer-specific security functions

may depend on original components and software.

The continued operation of such functions cannot always be guaranteed if the relevant component was already damaged, previously replaced, modified or affected by another fault.

If a biometric function is already defective before repair, repairing another component does not automatically make Reilu PhoneFix responsible for that pre-existing fault.

15. Water-resistance and protection ratings

Opening and repairing a device can affect its original seals and construction.

Therefore, Reilu PhoneFix does not guarantee that the water-resistance, splash-resistance, dust-resistance or equivalent protection rating declared by the manufacturer will remain unchanged after repair.

Customers should avoid exposing a repaired device to water or moisture.

16. Data and files

Customers are responsible for making a complete backup of their device before repair.

This includes:

  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Contacts
  • Messages
  • Documents
  • Applications
  • Device settings
  • Other personal data

Repair procedures may sometimes require:

  • Restarting the device
  • Updating software
  • Restoring software
  • Resetting the device
  • Replacing components
  • Performing diagnostic procedures

In certain circumstances, data may become inaccessible or may be lost.

Reilu PhoneFix is not responsible for the preservation of customer data where data loss occurs as a result of necessary repair, diagnostic or software procedures, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Customers should always maintain a current backup before handing over a device for repair.

17. Passwords and account access

Customers should not provide passwords or account credentials unless they are genuinely required for the agreed repair or testing.

Where possible, customers should disable relevant security locks or provide an appropriate method for testing the device without sharing personal passwords.

Reilu PhoneFix does not intentionally retain customer passwords or authentication information after it is no longer required.

18. Warranty assessment

A warranty claim may require the device to be inspected by Reilu PhoneFix.

During inspection, we may determine:

  • Whether the reported fault exists
  • Whether the fault is related to the original repair
  • Whether the replacement part is defective
  • Whether external damage is present
  • Whether liquid or moisture damage is present
  • Whether the device has been opened or modified after repair

The customer may be asked to provide information about how the problem occurred.

19. Warranty claims

Customers should contact Reilu PhoneFix as soon as possible after noticing a potential warranty issue.

Email: asiakaspalvelu@reiluphonefix.fi
Phone / WhatsApp: +358 40 587 3888

Please provide, where available:

  • Customer name
  • Device model
  • Repair date
  • Repair/receipt number
  • Description of the problem
  • Photos or videos of the issue

The device may need to be returned to Reilu PhoneFix for inspection.

20. Warranty repair

If Reilu PhoneFix confirms that a defect is covered by the applicable repair warranty, we will provide an appropriate remedy.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  1. Repairing the affected component;
  2. Replacing the defective replacement part;
  3. Re-performing the affected repair; or
  4. Providing another appropriate remedy where required by applicable law.

Reilu PhoneFix will determine the appropriate practical remedy based on the nature of the fault, availability of parts and applicable legislation.

21. If the device becomes beyond economical or technically repairable

In exceptional circumstances, a repair may directly cause damage that makes the device technically or economically impractical to repair.

Reilu PhoneFix will assess the situation and discuss an appropriate solution with the customer.

Any remedy will be provided in accordance with the applicable warranty terms and mandatory Finnish consumer-protection legislation.

Reilu PhoneFix does not guarantee that every such situation will automatically result in a replacement device.

22. Customer responsibility after repair

After receiving the repaired device, customers should:

  • Handle the device normally and carefully
  • Protect the device from impact
  • Keep the device away from liquids
  • Use appropriate accessories
  • Avoid opening the device
  • Avoid unauthorised modifications
  • Maintain regular backups

Damage caused after the repair may affect warranty coverage.

23. Screen Protector Warranty

Screen protectors installed by Reilu PhoneFix have a separate 30-day warranty where this warranty is specifically included with the purchase.

The Screen Protector Warranty covers eligible installation and manufacturing defects, including certain persistent bubbles, installation problems, trapped particles and premature material defects.

Please refer to the separate:

Reilu PhoneFix – Screen Protector Warranty Terms for complete details.

24. Warranty and statutory consumer rights

The warranty described in these terms is a voluntary warranty provided by Reilu PhoneFix.

It does not replace or restrict the customer’s statutory rights under Finnish consumer-protection legislation.

If a service or product does not conform to the requirements imposed by law, the customer’s statutory rights apply regardless of whether a voluntary warranty has expired.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Our goal is simple:

We aim to provide clear repair information, transparent warranty conditions and fair solutions when something goes wrong.
